Complementary Therapies at Mello Health
Supporting your wellbeing in different ways
Alongside counselling, I offer a range of complementary therapies that can support relaxation, balance and overall wellbeing.
Shiatsu, EFT, Reiki and Emotion Code each offer a different approach. Some work primarily with the body, while others focus on emotions, energy or patterns that may be affecting how you feel.
You can choose a therapy on its own, or we can discuss which approach may be most appropriate for you. There is no need to know exactly what you need before getting in touch.
Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a Japanese bodywork therapy that uses gentle pressure, stretches and movement to support relaxation and wellbeing.
Treatments take place fully clothed on a comfortable floor mat. Pressure is applied using the hands, thumbs and sometimes elbows, working with different areas of the body according to what you need at the time.
Many people find Shiatsu deeply relaxing and use it as a way to slow down, release tension and reconnect with their body.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)
EFT, sometimes known as tapping, is a simple therapeutic approach that combines talking with gentle tapping on specific points on the face and upper body.
It can be used to explore emotional difficulties, stressful experiences, worries or patterns that may feel difficult to shift. The process allows us to work with what you are experiencing at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
EFT can be used as a therapy in its own right, or where appropriate, it can be incorporated into counselling sessions.

Reiki
Reiki is a gentle complementary therapy that aims to support relaxation, balance and a sense of wellbeing.
During a Reiki session you remain fully clothed, usually lying comfortably on a treatment couch. I work with my hands either lightly placed on, or just above, different areas of the body.
There is nothing you need to do during the session other than relax. People experience Reiki in different ways; some notice warmth, tingling or a sense of calm, while others simply find the time deeply restful.
Reiki can be enjoyed on its own as a relaxing treatment or alongside other approaches to supporting your wellbeing.
The Emotion Code
The Emotion Code is a gentle approach that focuses on identifying emotions from past experiences that may still be affecting how you feel in the present.
During a session we explore what may be contributing to a particular emotional difficulty or pattern. The process uses muscle testing as a way of identifying emotions that may be connected with what you are experiencing.
Once identified, the aim is to release these emotions in a gentle and straightforward way. You do not need to describe difficult experiences in detail if you would prefer not to.
Emotion Code can be used on its own or alongside other approaches to support emotional wellbeing and help you feel more balanced.
Which Therapy Is Right for Me?
You don’t need to decide before getting in touch
Each of the complementary therapies I offer works in a different way, and you may already have a sense of which one appeals to you.
If you are unsure, that is absolutely fine. You can get in touch and tell me a little about what you are looking for, and we can discuss the different options together.
There is no need to know exactly which therapy you want before making contact.
